Got a late start today but managed to make it as far as Clinton, Oklahoma. Happy to be back onto Route 66/I40 East, too. It was the first truly easy drive in nearly ten days. No rain, snow, ice, hail or wind to contend with—just a straight road and modest traffic. I alternated between driving on Route 66 and I40 East throughout the afternoon. The scenery changed dramatically along the way. I have left the remarkable mountains of New Mexico behind and entered the prairie lands of Texas and Oklahoma.
